The Gullibility Map
How gullible the news from each country made our readers this week.
Figures invented by our newsroom from this week's stories; they describe our readers, not anyone who lives there. ● marks real reader votes.
Every figure on this map is made up.
Each country starts the day on a random wobble between 24 and 44. For every story from that country in the past week we add six points, plus one for every four words our analysts needed to reach their conclusion, up to ten more. Stories more than a day old count half. Nothing goes above 97.4%, because nothing is certain. Politics stories are left off the map.
The figures describe our stories and our readers. They say nothing about anyone who lives in these countries. The only real numbers here are marked ●: the share of readers who told the Credulity Meter under each article that they believed it before the twist, shown once five readers have voted.
